Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson grew up in Mexico with a family that loved music. Growing up she was influenced by Boleros, classical music and the more traditional romantic, ranchero, as well as romance ballads. Ana has a passion for tangos, opera, and any form of dramatic performance. Her mother taught her to sing. However, she began more intensive singing lessons through Flavio Belcerra when she was just 16 years old. the singer was famous as a Mexican opera singer and tenor. The musical training continued with the School of Music of the University of Guadalajara, and later to the School of Sacred Music in Toluca, Mexico. Her early professional career was spent performing with various orchestras, chamber ensembles, and opera choirs in Guadalajara. After 2000, she emigrated into in the United States and sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. In 2007 she moved to her current home in Southern California. She is currently a member of Ensemble XXI of Redlands and is a frequent solo performer of classical Latin American music at private performances. As a teacher and musician she has volunteered for many projects in the community due to her enthusiasm and passion for music. Ana was also a part of the Community Chorus of Redlands and Inland Master Chorale. She is currently a teacher of the Performance Loft. Ana finds it a privilege to be able to bring to others her passion for traditional Latin American music. She hopes to help younger generations keep the tradition alive.
