Maggie Grace and Maggie Gyllenhaal

Maggie Grace is an American actress born Margaret Grace Denig in 1983. Her most famous roles include Shannon Rutherford, a character on ABC's Lost series as well as Kim Mills from the Taken trilogy. Maggie Grace is originally from Worthington from Ohio dropped out high school, and relocating into Los Angeles after her divorced parents. The actress landed her first part, as Rachel's Room's main character in 2001, despite having a difficult time with finances. Her performance of Martha Moxley, a 15-year-old victim of murder, in the television movie Murder in Greenwich in 2002 earned her a nomination for a Young Artist Award. Grace played Shannon Rutherford on the Lost television show in 2004. She played the lead protagonist for two seasons and was awarded a Screen Actors Guild Award. After leaving the show, Grace would like to be as a film actress, and had been cast as the opposite of Tom Welling in The Fog in 2005. She starred in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club in both 2007 as well as Taken (2008) opposite Liam Neeson. She reprised this role in Taken 2 (2013) and Taken 3 (2015). She also played Alice on Malice in Wonderland which is an updated version from Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace reprised the role of Shannon for two additional episodes of Lost including the series finale. In 2013, she appears in Californianation, the 6th season. The actress plays Faith a groupie and her muse to the stars who captures the eye of Hank Moody played by David Duchovny. Being part of the Gyllenhaal Family she's the younger sister to the actor Jake Gyllenhaal. When she was a teenager her career began on small roles with her father. She also appeared in Donnie Darko along with her brother. She then appeared as a character in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (both 2002) and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal received nominations for an Golden Globe Award in both the drama Sherrybaby (2005) as well as the romance comedy Secretary (2002). The two movies were critically acclaimed. Following a string of commercially successful movies in 2006 such as World Trade Center she received greater recognition for her performance as Rachel Dawes in the superhero film The Dark Knight (2008). Following her acclaimed performance as an unmarried mother of Crazy Heart (2009), she received the Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Then she appeared in dramas and comedies such as Nanny McPhee's Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011, and Won't Back Down 2012 Her other roles includes Secret Service agents in White House Down (2013, action thriller) and musicians in Frank (2014, drama The Kindergarten Teacher 2018), and the role of the kindergarten teacher. Gyllenhaal's debut as a director and writer was in 2021 with The Lost Daughter, a psycho-drama in which she won the Venice International Film Festival Best Screenplay Award. In addition, she was awarded the Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
